Japan's former Prime Minister becomes honorary advisor to IGPN
Japan's former Prime Minister, Mr Tomiichi Murayama, has agreed to become an honorary advisor to IGPN.
Mr Murayama, who became the 81st Prime Minister in 1994, has been known as a liberal politician who formed strong relations of trust with Japan’s neighbouring countries.
With the enactment of Freedom of Information Act and Recycling Law as well as the measures against the Minamata disease issue, people in Japan still remember that Mr Murayama showed strong commitment to address environmental issues from the early days of forming his government.
