INDUSTRY MEET ON GREEN SUPPLY & GREEN PURCHASING |
Recognising the importance and relevance of greening supply chain and green purchasing as the important issues for the competitiveness of Indian industries, the Green Purchasing Network India (GPNI) and the Confederation of Indian Industry organised the seminars ‘Industry Meet on Green Supply & Green Purchasing’ in New Delhi and Pune in association with the International Green Purchasing Network (IGPN). The industry meet deliberated on the issues of greening supply chain and green purchasing from the point of view of Indian industries – how this is going to impact the Indian industries – highlighting the threats as well as emerging opportunities.
The industry meet featured prominent speakers from Japan and India and provided an opportunity for one-to-one interaction with them. In addition, the participants of the industry meet had an exclusive opportunity to get a preview and the evaluation copy of the CD-ROM and web-based Starter Kit on Green Purchasing and Public Procurement developed by IGPN and GPNI.
Green Purchasing Network India (GPNI) in collaboration and International Green Purchasing Network (IGPN) then offered a special lecture exclusively for the students of the University of Pune. The seminar focused on the latest issues and trends related to greening supply chain and green purchasing in the Indian context.
Besides the seminars and the lecture, the Japanese delegate visited the Consumer Voice magazine, ICLEI South Asia Secretariat, Vishay Component and the Auto Cluster Institute. The local staff and engineers had an opportunity to interact and exchanged the views and information.
